Anyone who has ever made thier way over to Lolly Chop's blog knows that she is a very creative, caring, and funny lady. Recently her good friend Crystal found out that she has cancer. Lolly's first thought (because she's such an amazing person and friend) was to be able to show Crystal how much she is cared about by giving her support through handcrafted gifts and cards. If you look on Lolly's site you can see some of the AMAZING items that have been sent. I am about to send my card to her as well in order to help support Crystal during this hard time. I want to show you mine with the following disclaimer: This card is definitely a best for me, however if you have looked at the others sent in, it is by no means spectacular. It's the thought that counts though, right? Anyways, since I am proud of myself for doing so well on it.... here it goes:
Ta-Da!!
I love how I did this and it was sooo incredibly easy too! I found a packaged of pre-cut and folded cards at Hobby Lobby one day. I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the butterfly using a Sizzix die. I also cut two more from card stock so that it's layered for an added punch. The antenae and the windstreams on the back were drawn free hand using stamp coloring markers. Isn't it great how we never use things as they were designed to be used? Those markers are the best for drawing ever, but I've never used them for stamping!
This is the inside. I started looking for the perfect scripture to include inside the card. Amazingly enough I found the perfect selection on a bookmark in the middle of my bible. I sure hope that she likes it too. Anyways, my challenge to you is to go Lolly's page and be a part of making Crystal know that she is supported and loved! Or, if you know of someone closer to home for you, try making them something handcrafted. It's amazing what 30 minutes of your time can mean to somebody who's sick, upset, or is in a rough situation.Ya'll keep looking for my first giveaway. It'll be coming soon!
The card is beautiful, and that is one of my favorite Bible passages!
