Oh my lawd!!!!

So, I know that good blog etiquette says to limit to only one blog post a day.. but oh, man, oh, man!!!
By the way, my title is my imaginary Southern accent. Anyways, on to what I wanted to show you! We all know about Pinterest (hence the freaking out that is about to take place!!!) and many of you should definitely know about Charity Preston over at The OC Blog.

But, have you seen her Pinterest page! That's where the 'Oh my lawdy!' comes in!!! She has 40 different boards that are all categorized about classroom needs, items, ideas. It goes on and on and on and on and..... I can't wait to begin to explore one board at a time!!

Pinterest finds this week

We all know that we LOVE pinterest but sometimes we just pin the yummy things and never actually get around to trying them out. I saw this pin a couple weeks ago but finally made them this weekend. As Rachel Ray would say- YUM-O!

Pinned Image

These were really easy to make and taste like Samoas. Yummy! The only thing that I did different from the recipe is I used a 13x9 pan and aluminum foil on the bottom of my pan. They still turned out really good! The recipe said that it makes 20 bars. I cut my pan into 3 rows and was able to get that many. They are really rich and chocolatey so you might want to reduce how big they are.

I've seen a lot of other yummy things on Pinterest lately. Has anyone else tried any recipes that they've pinned? I'd love to hear about it. Post a link and I might even try it myself!

I hope everyone has had a fabulous weekend. We enjoyed the cookout that we went to yesterday as well as the perfect fall day. My son was given a R/C car for his birthday last January and it has been forgotten in our closet for awhile. We brought it out yesterday and he had an absolute blast making it bounce around in the yard.

Has anyone else noticed the insane amount of acorns on the ground lately? I'm thinking I need to gather some up and make something with them. Not sure what though... Any ideas, links, or pictures?

Pinterest made me do it!

I think almost everyone has heard of Pinterest by now and most of us have joined it (and become addicted as crus to it!). I have seen some fantastic ideas our there that have really benefited my students already this year. For example, my Kinders have begun their learning adventure into the Daily Five by learning about Read to Self. Of course there are three ways to read to self: read the pictures, read the words, and retell. So as I spent one day on each of these, I made the adorable chart that hangs by my chair and easel.

This is such a great visual for my kiddos to see. I'm proud that when we review it most know the three ways and I see pretty much all of my students (who don't know right off the top of their heads) lancing over to look at the big 3 to jog their memories. I know that they can't read what I've written yet but it still seems to help!

I made this based on this chart:

I found this on Pinterest and it lead me to an amazing blog: Beg, Borrow, and Steal. Perfect namee for a teaching blog, right?

Pinterest is exploding!

Isn't it though? It has really caught on like a fire and is sweeping across the web. Craziness! I love seeing all the fantastic ideas that others find as well as being able to archive the items that I want or find. It is a fantastic site! This morning I found an awesome blog called:
This blog has so, so many different ideas that are simple yet creative and engaging to students. She has some adorable printables up for free that I will definitely be grabbing before I go back to school (next week is the end of vacation!!!). You definitely need to go on over and check out her site! Plus I have added the button for my Pinterest to my sidebar. If you'd like to follow me, just click the button. Let me know if you would like an invite to Pinterest, too. This is an awesome place that everyone should enjoy!!

Have a blessed day,
